HOW TO SUBMIT A BATCH JOB FROM THE CICS PROGRAM

We have two options to do this

  1. CICS JES COMMANDS

A. EXEC CICS SPOOLOPEN OUTPUT

(Here the USERID is not RACF ID it must be “INTRDR”)

B. EXEC CICS SPOOLWRITE

(Using this all the JCL statements need to written)

C. EXEC CICS SPOOLCLOSE

(This will submit the job)

  1. EXTRA PARTITION TDQ

A TDQ needs to be defined in the CICS system. You can write all the JCL statements into this TDQ, with the last statement as “/*EOF”. Then the job would be automatically submitted.
